UAE LEADERSHIP CONVENES FOR STRATEGIC CABINET MEETING CHAIRED BY MOHAMMED BIN RASHID AL MAKTOUM

In a strategic assembly led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE Cabinet endorses pivotal sustainability and technological innovation initiatives at Expo City Dubai, which is hosting the key COP28 climate conference, marking a significant stride towards the nation’s future readiness and environmental stewardship.



Several significant initiatives were approved, including the National Biodiversity Strategy 2031, the ‘Waste to Zero’ program for waste decarbonization, a National Carbon Credits Registration System, and the UAE’s fifth National Communication Report submission to the UN. Additionally, there were approvals for a Low-carbon DevelopmenStrategy, the UAE’s accession to the global cooling pledge, the formation of the UAE Electric Vehicle Charging Station Company, guidelines for Sustainable Aviation Fuel, and a National Guide for Smart Construction.
